Nine Twenty are now recruiting for a UX Designer to work in the West End of Glasgow.  Our client offers a flexible and supportive working environment, with the opportunity to work with a team of friendly, interesting and diverse people from across the globe, who are passionate about what they do.

Our client cares about climate change and is at the forefront of cutting edge technology for the green building sector.  We are now looking for an experienced User Experience (UX) designer to help with the design of a series of new products to be launched over the next 24 months.

The role

  • You will be responsible for all tasks associated with user research and design on both large and small-scale solutions working independently on a solution or with a team of software developers.
  • Produce user requirements specifications, conceptual models, personas, storyboards/scenarios, flow charts, conceptual sketches, wireframes, design prototypes, and design specifications.
  • Work with visual designers, design researchers, developers and architects to ensure UX designs enhances the overall user experience
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team using agile approaches
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationale both verbally and visually to stakeholders and team members
  • Perform user research and observation of user tasks, integrating these findings with business requirements 
  • Interface with key stakeholders, including clients, management, and architecture, to iteratively refine and improve designs to create the most appropriate possible user experience

Essential Skills

  • HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, UX Design, and/or related fields
  • Experience in User research including developing user requirements, user scenario's, user stories, etc. and Usability Requirements
  • Experience in Interaction design for Desktop/Web/Mobile interfaces, and User evaluation
  • Demonstrable UX design experience with a strong portfolio of products that have been brought to market
  • The ability to understand client needs and rapidly develop and propose practical yet innovative solutions
  • Display teamwork and persuasive interpersonal communications skills
  • Demonstrated application of user interface design principles and the user-centred design process, including user research techniques, both in creating designs and discussing design decisions with the product team
  • Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) used to deliver feasible designs
  • Demonstrated storytelling and presentation skills

  • Ability to self-direct and desire for continual learning and personal development
