McDermott Group is a privately-owned collection of diverse and forward-thinking companies specialising in the housing sector. They are a provider of Technology, Engineering & Construction.  Its multi-disciplined group has grown organically over the past 50 years, and it employs over 250 people, specialising in various market sectors, including land acquisition, construction, architecture, consultancy, software development, mechanical and electrical installation, fire detection, sprinkler systems, and district heating.

What are we looking for?

An exciting new role for an experienced Technical Project Manager has cropped up in McDermott Group’s Glasgow Office.  This is a great opportunity to work across many sectors and industries for our clients across Scotland.  The primary role of the Technical Project Manager is to co-ordinate the successful delivery of projects by acting as the interface between operational teams, senior management and the development team.

This truly is an Industry 4.0 ground-breaking position. 

We know we are pushing our luck but experience in IT as well as knowledge of the Engineering industry would put you in a greatly advantageous position. 

We need a Jack of all trades!

Below are some guidance points for the type of skills we are looking for – don’t worry we aren’t expecting all of these!

  • You will need experience of managing complex project. The more varied your career the better.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, PMP and Prince2.
  • Knowledge and experience of front-end, back-end and DevOps technologies and frameworks.
  • Experience of working with Cloud-based infrastructure would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working in engineering environments would also be an advantage.
