Nine Twenty are now recruiting for a Technical Consultant to work on a permanent basis for a well-known financial services organisation in Central Glasgow.

An exciting opportunity within our client’s payments team has arisen for Technical Consultant who will take responsibility for the development and support of our clients banking applications
The Payments Team develops and supports the platforms which underpin our client’s payments processing through their Bacs and Faster Payment Schemes. This is an opportunity to be part of a technical team linking our client’s business users, technology teams, offshore partners and application vendors to deliver services to their customers.

We are looking for a talented individual with the right experience who has the ability to make a difference to the department and has the potential to progress through the organisation.
 

The role was also include:

  • Undertaking specific, complex development project activities 
  • Preparing of detailed design documentation to enable Test to produce effective system test scripts which assure independence and scope coverage 
  • To produce and ensure application of standards and principles for all appropriate activities and contribute actively to their continuous improvement. 
  • To provide support to Application Designers to ensure that knowledge share contributes to improved effectiveness of team. 
  • Mentoring of team members and developing the team's capability 
  • Undertaking package configuration and support physical implementation of systems in the
  • Enterprise infrastructure 
  • Building effective relationships across IT and other business areas, ensuring IT knowledge and experience is shared 
  • Pro-actively identify risks and opportunities to services and take appropriate action. 
  • Manage and investigate problems and incidents in order to identify and deliver permanent solutions

 

What we are looking for:

  • A great attitude, be a passionate owner with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Software development lifecycle experience 
  • An ability to understand and discuss technical live or project issues with various technical and business experts 
  • Knowledge of processing Payments end to end and batch processing
  • Experience in our key technology IBM Mainframe
  • Experience of Oracle and Windows Server
  • Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
