Technical Business Analyst – Glasgow - Up to 45k

The organisation that I am working with, who supply a wide range of dairy products and dairy ingredients to customers in both national and international markets, are looking to add a specialised technical business analyst to their growing team in Glasgow.  

Role Overview

The position of Technical Business Analyst will play a key role in ongoing systems improvement and ERP upgrade programs. The BA will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all technical aspects of the systems improvement program, as well as recommending best practice for solutions required to facilitate an extensive set of business priorities. 

-The BA will require expertise in strategic design and mapping of business requirements to system/technical solutions, while confirming to all aspects of governance and best practice. -The BA will be expected to proactively identify technical solutions to business problems that meet the needs of the organisation.

  • Responsible for projects which form part of the overall IT programme ensuring that they are delivered on time and meet business needs.
  • Meet project timelines to a level of quality and accuracy as directed by Head of IT
  • Manage technical aspects of the ERP transition and associated projects
  • Liaise with external/third party vendors on all aspects of technical delivery
  • Design and maintain Oracle database objects in line with system/process requirements
  • Technical project tasks completed on time and accurately
  • Produce detailed technical documentation to allow for rapid application development by external parties
  • Delivery of effective test plans
  • Business Process Management/Design/Mapping

Qualities, Skills and Experience – Essential

  • Educated to degree level in an IT or business-related discipline
  • Able to demonstrate experience of ERP implementation in a large organisational environment
  • Working technical knowledge of Oracle databases is essential (APIs/Triggers/Procedures/Packages)
  • Comfortable in challenge existing processes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Effective communication and organisation skills

Qualities, Skills and Experience - Desirable

  • Exposure to the IFS ERP system
  • Experience in PAAS/IAAS/SAAS
  • Business analysis qualification
  • Knowledge of BPMN
  • Experience of developing/maintaining Oracle Application Express
  • Project management qualification
