Overall role purpose:
Provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of systems hardware & software, applications, and related infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administration and support of network, telephony, and all other IT systems and hardware
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to employees and other internal customers to ensure smooth running of all IT systems
  • Carry out security best practice, systems backups and DR simulations
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets
  • Participate in resolution of emergency situations, which may involve technical hardware or software problems

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Strong organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to learn new technologies and support a wide range of evolving systems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Practical experience of administering Windows AD environments including most recent versions of Windows Server
  • Understanding of network protocols and topologies
  • Experience of working with Office 365 and Exchange Online
  • Experience of Windows desktop support and administration both remote and on site
  • Reasonable understanding of PowerShell scripting for systems administration
  • Switching, routing, firewall administration

Desirable skills:

  • Linux server administration
  • Microsoft Azure administration
  • An understanding of VOIP
  • Powershell DSC and CI/CD (infrastructure as code)
