The Development Manager role is the focal point of and leads the development team in the delivery of client projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, with high quality and meeting the agreed requirements.  Key aspects of the role will be the on-going motivation of the team, building a team spirit and ethos, and ensuring that new technologies are adopted as part of an ongoing improvement process.  The establishment of clear and robust technical standards built around our existing experience and promotion, enhancement and continual improvement of these standards are primary function of the role.


  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft development languages e.g. C# and/or
  • VB.Net
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft development environments e.g. Team Foundation Services and Visual Studio
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills internally and externally
  • Good understanding of development processes and methodologies
  • Good understanding of database design, maintenance and associated technologies
  • Good understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, JQuery)
  • Ideally an understanding of CRM solutions (preferably Microsoft Dynamics CRM but Salesforce would also be an advantage)
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and to lead a team of individuals across multiple tasks and projects with distinct deadlines
  • The confidence and ability to challenge assumptions in a constructive manner
  • The ability to contribute to recruitment processes


This role is to work with customers and the development team to ensure that C2 deliver client projects to the highest of standards.   

C2 Software represents a rapidly growing Dynamics CRM partner in which to forge a career. Established in 1997 the company has a strong heritage in delivering technology solutions across the UK.  The company has been successfully delivering CRM solutions since 2008 and this is now the primary focus of the business.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will be leading the development team. The majority of the role will involve coordinating and motivating the team to deliver Dynamics CRM and web solutions that will deliver to client business requirements.

Occasional travel to meet clients will be required throughout the UK.

The ability to work logically and maintain control whilst under pressure and make firm decisions based on common sense and judgement in difficult situations is vital.


Targets will be agreed on commencement of the contract and may be adjusted as part of the review process.  These may include:

  1. To ensure the development team deliver an agreed minimum of billable revenue in the agreed period
  2. Ensure average customer satisfaction scores for development services of over an agreed percentage
  3. Ensure specific new technologies are introduced to an agreed schedule


The priority given to all these elements is governed by the need to deliver client projects on time, on budget and to a high level of quality. This will be measured via customer satisfaction and agreed performance targets. These responsibilities and duties may change in due course of business.

In addition to your offer letter of employment the following responsibilities also apply:

  • Implementing client solutions to meet their business requirements on the Dynamics CRM platform and supporting technologies
  • Leading the development team to ensure that client projects are delivered to agreed schedule
  • Responsible for the controlled adoption of new technologies to the established development processes
  • Ongoing professional development to ensure that you keep pace with new releases of the product and supporting technologies
  • Own and hit/exceed agreed billable hours KPI’s 
  • Effectively communicate with clients to ensure that expectations are clearly set and met
  • Develop and maintain documentation e.g. templates, to help ensure repeatable quality in a reduced timescale
  • Understanding technology specific landscapes and trends that may impact future project implementations and recommendations
  • Provide input to development staff annual appraisals
