The Role:

Working with the product team, the Software Support Engineer will be the first point of contact for both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Software support requests – internal and external
  • Carry out required adjustments to data or configuration necessary to resolve issues
  • Create tickets if further support is required to be escalated
  • Set up activities for customer onboarding
  • Gathering and reporting of support desk operational metrics
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of support and development related processes
  • Work with our in-house development team to resolve bugs or develop solutions to reduce ongoing support burden
  • Participate in out of hours support rota with other members of the Technology team.

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree or college qualification in an IT related subject area
  • Knowledge and 2 years plus experience of operating in a software support environment
  • Experience of working with SQL – perform queries and data updates
  • Experience of working within or alongside software development teams using Agile/Scrum methods would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/deployment, automated build, test and other SDLC/DevOps tools
  • An ability to work directly with customers
  • Outstanding commitment as an individual and a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for service delivery and keen to learn and share ideas
