Responsibilities:

  • Leading the BI stack development and day to day delivery
  • Developing ETL processes
  • Data Warehouse design and build
  • Production of ad-hoc internal or customer reports, including information to support
  • projects and to use this knowledge to further enhance existing dashboard capability
  • Continually exploring opportunities for automation of ad-hoc and manual processes
  • Management of all aspects of reporting security within the MS Stack
  • Leading and supporting the optimization of dashboards, reports and ad hoc analytics utilizing a mix of BI tools, scripting as required & APIs for seamless end user experience
  • Maintaining robust version control of all objects in the Microsoft BI environment
  • Mentoring and empowering of junior BI Developers
  • Design, development & testing of Data marts, cubes & reporting/dashboards
  • Assisting in deployment by liaising across the wider business

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in Data Warehousing/BI projects
  • Experience of report development using Power BI
  • Working closely with testers and business / product owners
  • Experience of using the Microsoft Azure data platform on an enterprise scale
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS integration skills
  • Expert database and ETL design knowledge
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Strong understanding of unit testing and support testing documentation
  • Experience of Continuous Integration and delivery/deployment environments -VSTS
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience working as part of an agile team (XP/SCRUM)

It would be nice if you had the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of automation scripts such as PowerShell would be highly advantageous
  • Statistical data modelling, data visualisation, machine learning techniques or database
  • administration (particularly in relation to BI) experience
  • Any experience integrating SSRS, Power BI dashboards into .NET web applications
  • would be useful
  • Working knowledge of JSON valuable
  • Event Hub - Real time data transfer, Stream analytics
