Payroll Administrator reporting to Financial Controller

The Company:

  • Grand Administration is a shared services company, based in Govan, Glasgow
  • The Company prepares the payroll, HR, and accounting services for a number of well-known bars and restaurants in Glasgow, including Sloans, Brel, Maggie Mays, Stereo, and Mono

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of weekly payroll runs for several businesses (approximately 450 staff over 20 businesses)
  • Management of employee payroll standing data, including tax code changes, wage arrestments etc.
  • Reporting and payment of PAYE and pension payments due
  • Preparation of reports on the total wage spend for the businesses
  • Holiday and sick pay tracking and reporting
  • Work with the rest of the Finance and HR Teams to introduce improvements and legislation changes into standard work practices
  • Additional ad hoc reporting as and when required

The Candidate:

  • Must have a proven track record in the preparation of payroll.
  • Experience with the production of weekly payrolls is desirable, although not essential
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines, and to a consistently high standard with a strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Sage Line 50 Payroll is highly desirable
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills are desirable
  • Must work well within a small team, and can communicate well with others
  • Has ideas for continual improvements on processes, and is prepared to work with others to action these changes


  • Competitive salary - £21k - £24k
