This new National Account Executive role has arisen within an International Drinks business that sells in more than 85 global markets. With a headcount of over 800, the business operates as an international arm of an even bigger global drinks giant and specialises in premium drinks, providing some of the fastest-growing products in the market. The business continues to outperform the market.

The National Account Executive will be responsible for managing and developing profitable sales of the Company’s portfolio within the Convenience Retail sector across the UK in order to deliver listings through managed activation/promotions in key accounts across the country.

This role is currently predominantly working from home, long-term the role can be based anywhere in the UK in a hybrid model. Due to the nature of the role, regular travel several days per week will be required with the willingness to regularly visit the office in Glasgow.


About The Job:

The National Account Executive will have a high degree of autonomy in the day-to-day operation of their UK convenience region.  They will be required to make commercial decisions regarding sales price and promotional support packages offered to customers/potential customers in line with the overall retail strategy.

Communication will include negotiating with contacts and the position has accountability for maintenance of distribution channels and observance of sales management policies and activities. Decisions will impact the entire organisation.


  • To lead and develop relationships with buyers and key stakeholders to gain listings across key accounts.
  • To manage an existing portfolio for the company in assigned accounts including: -
    • Developing and executing sales and marketing strategies; preparing and monitoring performance against budgets; reviewing and preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports; managing individual promotional budgets.
  • To actively seek and develop new business opportunities for the organisation.
  • To provide accurate and up-to-date forecasts for all brands and all products.
  • To manage a 12-month rolling promotional plan which operates within the promotional parameters and align with the Line Manager on pricing strategy within the sector.
  • To work closely with the Channel Marketing team to develop and execute brand activations for key customers.
  • To monitor and evaluate continuous promotional activity and ROI.
  • To identify and grow any new opportunities either through new distribution in existing portfolio or new business which falls within the remit of this role.
  • Work closely with the Line Manager to contribute and develop the Sales strategy for the retail sector.
  • Liaise with Marketing Department on competitor information and contribute to the development of new products and SKU’s.
  • Manage and own professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.


  • 5+ years of sales management experience, preferably within Drinks, FMCG, or Retail Sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related area.
  • 3+ years negotiating agreements and contracts.
  • A highly commercial individual with a track record of managing P&L’s, with a particular focus on driving sales and profit growth.
  • A resilient, can-do mindset is required.
  • An outstanding communicator – written and verbal – able to work with individuals across levels, functions, brands, countries, and cultures.
  • Capable of providing direction, a strong influencer and can communicate the advantages and disadvantages of available options.
