MI / Data Analyst

Working within a newly created data analytics team that will provide reporting and analytics for all business areas.

You will work closely with the business to understand requirements, and then provide the results in a coherent manner to the business and work with them when required to identify improvements that can be made within the business functions.

The team has a joint line of responsibility to the head of IT and to the CEO.

The data used for reporting is stored within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment in both an Oracle database and S3 storage that can be queried using SQL.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop reports and data analysis to support business functions and decision making


Key Experience & Competencies Required


  • Strong SQL knowledge with the ability to create reports for business users.
  • Good analytic abilities to interpret the output of reports.
  • Competent in full development lifecycle (gathering business requirements, data analysis and design, report development)
  • Able to manage end user expectations well
  • Able to work on own and manage workload effectively
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills - able to communicate with business areas in a clear, structured and understandable manner (verbally and written)
  • Able to deal with stakeholders in a sensitive and diplomatic manner



  • Experience of Oracle or AWS Athena
  • Experience of Data Integration (ETL Techniques)
  • Holds a Computer Science Degree (or a similar highly analytical / numerical degree)
  • Motor insurance experience
