Bird.i is a rapidly growing “big data from space” start-up, backed by private investors. Our mission is to make the world’s most incredible satellite images – and the insights they bring – accessible to absolutely everyone. We have created a simple to use portal to access satellite imagery, and we also have an in-house machine learning team creating AI to provide satellite imagery analysis, giving our customers a range of insights across a variety of sectors.

We are seeking a marketing manager to join our growing commercial team. As the first dedicated marketing position at Bird.i, this is a great opportunity for someone to take charge of a strategy and implementation, bring and realise their own ideas, and really make their mark.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role will be wide ranging across various marketing functions, including strategy, content, website and social, as well as design input. With a  predominantly inbound focus, we are looking for someone with experience in driving inbound traffic within a SaaS software environment.


  • Help formulate, and execute upon, the marketing strategy
  • Create content in various formats as required by the marketing strategy
  • Manage CRM (HubSpot)
  • Own and manage social channels
  • Own and manage the website
  • Research industry-related topics and competitors
  • Conduct keyword research and use SEO guidelines to optimise content
  • Promote content on social networks and monitor engagement
  • Identify customers’ needs and recommend new topics and content formats
  • Produce and manage the editorial calendar
  • Working with sales on collateral
  • Working with engineering, product, and design on UI and UX

General profile and requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in an inbound marketing role
  • Experience in content creation and design
  • Strategic thinker, able to bring new ideas to business
  • High degree of commercial acumen, able to work with sales on a variety of tasks
  • Highly organised and used to working in a face paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems
  • Experienced HubSpot user and administrator
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and social media, allowing you to successfully optimise and distribute content.
  • Experience in running outbound marketing campaigns
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Experience of running analysis, split testing, and KPI reporting
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Experience of marketing AI also beneficial
