We are on the hunt for a Data Lead to join an excellent team based in Glasgow.

The Company…

Our Client is a privately-owned collection of diverse and forward-thinking companies specialising in the housing sector. They are a provider of Technology, Engineering & Construction.  Its multi-disciplined group has grown organically over the past 50 years, and it employs over 250 people, specialising in various market sectors, including land acquisition, construction, architecture, consultancy, software development, mechanical and electrical installation, fire detection, sprinkler systems, and district heating.

The Day to day:

  • Maintenance of data pipelines and data structures through SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
  • Management of company performance dashboards.
  • Project management of AI and ML projects.
  • Personnel management, 1-1s, etc.

Your background and experience:

  • Strong SQL development skills, ideally T-SQL.
  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory or other data engineering and transformational tools, such as SSIS, Apache Airflow, Alteryx, etc.
  • Experience in data modelling and understanding of data modelling philosophies (particularly Kimball, but Inmon would also be acceptable).
  • Great communication skills, capable of clearly explaining the capabilities and drawbacks in varying approaches to data governance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and fanatical proactivity.

Extra Brownie points for;

  • Experienced in R / Python.
  • Exposure to mapping products, such as ArcGIS (or similar).
  • Exposure to visualisation tools, such as Power BI (or similar).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and with work management tools such as Jira / Azure DevOps.
  • Presentation experience and ability to demonstrate created software.

 

The Projects current and future

Our Client develop applications on multiple cloud, on-premises and mobile platforms for the social housing, rail and construction sectors. 

You will be working on projects for public sector within the IoT space.
