Lead PHP Developer

Fresh off the back of another trophy-laden awards season, this technology team are on the hunt for a truly talented PHP Developer to join a brand new development team. To fit the bill, you need to be framework savvy, have strong technical skills and be on the ball with cutting-edge frameworks and technologies.

You should be an enthusiastic lead developer who displays a strong sense of ownership and pride in your work. You must be a confident and capable team leader, able to grow a small and agile development team and ensure strong performance.

You must be comfortable discussing your ideas to both technical peers and non-technical users. If you have the majority of your experience gained from working in a software house or technology business, you would be a more natural fit to this organisation.

We are a small, agile development team working in some of the latest mobile marketing technology niches. A robust approach to compliance coupled with a forward thinking attitude to capitalising on emerging trends, creates a unique development environment that is both fast moving and highly rewarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of development of core platforms and systems
  • Work with the business to maintain scale and develop new features and functions across platforms
  • Take ownership in early stage project scoping whilst being free to contribute to improvement of platforms
  • Successfully launch new platforms and applications to a varied user base

Essential experience:

  • Minimum 5 years application development experience in PHP required
  • We would love to see one of the following: Symfony, Laravel, MVC, React, GULP/GIT, Kannel
  • Specific experience (eg Modernizr, jQuery Mobile) preferred
  • CSS and HTML development experience required
  • Strong front-end skills, JavaScript and JavaScript framework development experience required, preferably with jQuery and Ember.js
  • An understanding of big data and associated database challenges
