Nine Twenty are working an IT Consultancy in Glasgow, who are on the hunt for a talented IT Helpdesk Technician. They are a leader in their field.


This role will be some field and mostly office based help desk work for our IT customers. You will help with the administration and procurement for our customers, as well as learning about the products and services we provide. It is a busy role that will require attention to detail. You will be involved in first line support and as such, will probably be the first person the customer speaks to.

The role will be as a member of our technical IT team, the candidate must be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. They will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external customers. 


  • Administering and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2016 and SBS 2011 including Active Directory and Group Policy creation.
  • Administering and supporting Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016

  • Helping with the procurement and administration

  • Some understanding of Office 365
  • A basic understanding of network switching architectures and configurations.
  • A basic understanding of network protocols, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Help the team to provide technical support to our user base, both remotely or on-site as required
  • Attending sites to assist in the implementation and installation of new systems, PC’s and other IT supplies including software
  • Providing 1st line telephone support for our client's products, both hardware and software
  • Assisting the team with Server Virtualisation Environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V / VMware
  • Assisting the technical team with LAN / WAN hardware and router configurations


  • Good all round IT knowledge gained from an IT degree or relevant industrial experience (minimum 12 months)
  • Interested in all aspects of modern IT technology
  • Good working knowledge of personal computing Operating Systems such as Windows 10
  • More than proficient with MS Office applications
  • Some exposure to Server OS would be advantageous
