This brand new role in a digital marketing agency, with a difference, has arisen due to continued growth and a roster of international clients.

The agency offers unique digital marketing services using a number of marketing platforms that get straight to the consumer, delivering effective results. These platforms accelerate growth from day one. The business works in a data-driven manner, providing faster interactions and continuous improvement. 

Due to continued growth, they need an experienced, ambitious Head of Paid to join the team in Glasgow and help them realize their ambitions for 2021. 


The Role

You will lead a team of digital marketers and ultimately be responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of paid digital marketing campaigns with specific focus on paid search and display.  Working alongside the Head of Paid Media, this role will play a significant part in ensuring  Investor Relations campaigns help drive growth and success for the client base.   Passionate, adaptable and strategic this is a critical role in supporting the continued growth in international markets.

The Responsibilities

  • You will be empowered to make decisions that drive the commercial success and growth of paid search and display strategies;
  • A strategic thinker, you will bring a keen eye for continuous improvement in processes and deliverables across:
  1. Audience analysis and targeting
  2. Campaign ideation, channel and format selection
  3. Objective-setting, budgeting, paid search and display planning and forecasting
  4. Messaging and creative development
  5. Performance reporting and analysis
  6. Ongoing campaign optimization
  • You will support your direct reports and maintain a strong level of awareness for campaign performance ensuring client ROI and where necessary strategic improvements to affect positive change in campaigns.
  • You will lead your team in the development of client and sector specific strategies that builds on the performance of recent campaigns with a focus on innovation.
  • You must be a catalyst in the evaluation and introduction of new paid search and display channels into product offering.
  • You will strongly demonstrate a robust knowledge of biddable best practices, channels, ad formats and supporting technology.
  • A consummate communicator, you will build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring paid search and display strategies are well understood and the business is held in high regard by all they partner with.
  • You will ensure your team maintain a commercial mindset with a focus on client ROI, efficiency and up/cross-selling.
  • Working closely with the SEO team, deliver integrated SEM campaigns across paid and organic search.
  • Safeguard and where possible enhance the business best in class approach to compliance.
  • With an analytical mindset, you will continually reflect on data and reporting to inform future paid search and display strategies.

The Person

The business is looking for a positive, professional, and ambitious paid search and display strategist.  A leader with the ability to build trust and respect with exceptional emotional intelligence.

Experience managing an agency biddable team is essential, and you’ll know how to deliver the best possible returns from campaigns with both large and small media budgets.

Other requirements include:

  • Proven track record leading multiple client accounts concurrently.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confidence in translating business objectives into marketing campaigns and biddable strategies.
  • In-depth understanding of audience profiles, targeting options, and ad formats offered by different channels.
  • Innovative thinker with a proactive approach to idea generation that brings strategic concepts to life across relevant channels.
  • Hands-on campaign management experience across:
  1. Paid search and display (essential)
  2. Paid social including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  3. Other channels including Outbrain, Snapchat, Spotify, TikTok etc.
  4. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and campaign tracking experience
  5. Google Data Studio
  6. Pixel Management
