Nine Twenty is working with one of the UK’s most established and well known independent online webstores to recruit a Full Stack Magento Developer.

The company is building a new white-label site as well as a business/trade website which will drive forward growth and expansion of their B2B offering and capability.

Job Description

You will join a talented development team as it enters a period of growth.

As a Magento Developer you will use in-depth insight and expert-level knowledge to code and test semantic, well-structured and maintainable Magento sites for all projects.

You will be responsible for back-end development and integrations as well as front-end development where you will be expected to produce best-in-class Magento sites.

You are working with development of both custom and generic modules for Magento and system integrations between Magento and external systems.

This role involves working independently as well as contributing to the goals of the team, liaising with development team leads and sharing knowledge with other developers.

You will be working with Magento and WordPress, although experience of other content management systems would be desirable and the work environment is Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP5.6 (LAMP).

Specific Responsibilities

  • Taking part in support and maintenance jobs across existing projects
  • Working on our B2B and White Label websites
  • Training and mentoring junior staff in proven Magento methodologies
  • Helping write Magento best practice documentation
  • Testing of new and existing websites to ensure that they meet our expectations

Required Expertise and Skills

  • Significant development experience with PHP (2 years +)
  • 5+ years’ experience with Magento (1 and 2)
  • 5+ years’ experience with full stack development
  • A good understanding of MVC
  • Full understanding of the Magento themes and templating systems from both a web developer and server developer point of view
  • JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, HTML5, CSS3
  • End to end Magento project lifecycle
  • Good MySQL knowledge
  • Magento Developer Certification

Candidates may also possess some of the following desirable skills:

  • Worked within an Agile framework
  • Knowledge of AWS products
  • Experience with Sage integrations
  • SVN, GIT or equivalent code repository use
  • WordPress & PHP knowledge
