Nine Twenty Technology are delighted to be recruiting a Front End Engineer for their long-term client in Glasgow.

As a front-end developer you will work as part of a focused and growing agile software development team focused on the continual innovation and improvement of the design and implementation of a pixel perfect user interface and the evolution of the front-end customer facing components. 

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Design, develop and maintain complex web based applications.
  • Work closely with key business stakeholders to build technical solutions that meet business and market requirements in a fast-changing industry.
  • Work within agreed schedules and deadlines that align with business priorities.
  • Pro-actively challenge status quo and suggest new technologies or development strategies that improve our products and workflows

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • Experience of developing rich web applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience of source control, e.g. GIT
  • Experience working within agile team.
  • Have implemented responsive design techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience of cross browser testing.
  • Knowledge of client-side performance concerns and optimisation techniques.

Desirable Skills

The skills that will make you stand out:

  • Previous experience of
    • Working with large scale applications.
    • Front end component based frameworks. E.g. Vue.JS, React or Angular.
    • Integration of restful APIs and JSON based data structures.
    • Docker.
    • SASS.
    • Typescript.
    • Automated Testing.
  • Proven and showable design skills of previous work.
  • Experience of writing design templates and wireframing of new features.

  • Be a methodical thinker with the ability to demonstrate a strong attention to detail towards every task completed.
  • Logical problem solving skills and enjoy finding solutions to complex problems.
