Nine Twenty are on the lookout for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a leading IAM technology company in Glasgow, who work across Cloud, Mobile and Windows desktop legacy applications. As a cloud engineer, you will have experience across Cloud Engineering with Azure, O365, networking, automated deployment, diagnostics, troubleshooting and operational dashboards. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing, maintaining and governing the processes and procedures which ensure the uptime, availability, scalability, security and resilience of the clients service
  • Creating and managing an operational dashboard and MI reports
  • Managing the internal network, internal and cloud infrastructure and the company IT function
  • Ensuring appropriate cost management of our cloud services
  • Ensuring appropriate group policies and permission are in place across services
  • Ensuring the security of all services and infrastructure
  • Liaising with vendors and service providers
  • Supporting best practice across deployment, infrastructure, metrics and logging
  • Engaging in pre-sales and customer driven activities as required by the business
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the technology industry
  • Supporting a robust, resilient, secure and available service for our customers
  • Participating in the out of hours process and customer support related duties

Required Skills:

  • 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Excellent operational knowledge
  • Customer facing experience
  • Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Azure, Networking / DNS, O365, Security, Deployment and lifecycle tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
  • Previous experience working on a cloud-based production service
  • Experience developing Operational Dashboards, KPI’s and metrics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
  • Experience developing automated deployment
  • Hands on experience with DNS and secure networking
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based technologies
  • Good understanding of application and service security

Desired Skills (Not essential) 

  • Experience with AWS
  • Hands on experience with Route 53
  • Experience driving process or practice improvement within a team
  • Previous development experience in the cyber-security industry

Qualifications 

  • Computer Science or similar technical degree; In lieu of degree, relevant skills and equivalent experience
