Nine Twenty are now recruiting for an Business Development/Account Manager x3 to work in the Derby location on a permanent basis for one our client in the logistics sector.

These three positions are categorised into three specialised logistical areas; (Air, Road, Sea) and will have a strong focus on new business.

This position will be focused on the development of relationships with existing and new customers, converting opportunities into closed sales, retaining and expanding a profitable and sustainable customer portfolio.

This will be a target driven role that demands high degree of drive and resilience balanced with strong relationship building skills.

Main responsibilities:

  • Build and consistently grow new sales territory through generation of new business and development of existing accounts 
  • Source effective sales leads through varies means to maximise the growth of your territory
  • To complete a thorough profile of your customers’ needs to enable sales and operational support to provide the most appropriate service
  • Work with Operations and Sales Support to create innovative and tailored logistics solutions
  • Develop your customer base by ‘upselling’
  • Quote customers directly and negotiate to secure business
  • Monitor the profit margins of the sales territory and ensure customer tariffs are kept in line with market rates
  • Maintain good awareness of industry standards, legislation and competitor insights
  • Responsible for creating standard operating procedures for clients and liaising with Operations to ensure the smooth running of the account.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with clients to ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Promote the company’s products and services confidently through presentations and software demonstrations.

For this role you must have the following experience:

  • Significant sales experience within a Logistics service or Parcel delivery organisation
  • Experience of business development
  • Desirably have experience within Road, Air or Sea logistics
  • Super verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of building customer relationships and closing new business over the phone
