Nine Twenty are now recruiting for a BI Architect for a Global Technology client in the Edinburgh Location.

Our client was founded in 1999 in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, now an award-winning local start-up with a huge global impact. Since our client’s inception, they have grown from two founders to nearly 300 employees and their healthcare software has continued to ensure quality of care for millions of people across the US.

As BI Architect you will define and drive our clients internal line of business software roadmap. You will also manage and develop BI/ERP Developers ensuring they work to the highest standards and principles using architecture consistent with the team’s roadmap.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Designing well architected, maintainable solutions using appropriate design patterns and consistent SOLID principles
  • Working with CIO, BI Business Partners and Lean Leaders to provide technical elements of BI/ERP roadmap
  • Managing resource levels and availability for continuous improvement events/sprints
  • Monitoring and responding to the levels of productivity and quality within the team and ensuring adherence to Software Standards and Best Practices
  • Providing technical direction to the company
  • Leading architectural discussions and design decisions
  • Providing direct line management to BI Developers with regard to the administration of annual leave and absence, managing and resolving any conduct and capabilities issues that may arise within the team working with the CIO to reach final decision
  • Managing, leading and developing the team of BI Developers to achieve their career objectives through the full contribution management process including contribution reviews and goal setting, promotions and performance improvement plans
  • Assessing resource requirements and ensuring the team is appropriately resourced. Recruiting additional BI resource as required, to meet commitments
  • Keeping up to date with technical advances to drive innovation

Experience Required:

  • Experience required: In-depth knowledge of software development principles and best practices including Agile
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Continuous Improvement Methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of business processes and how business data and processes run and integrate on different platforms
  • A current understanding of industry Business Intelligence stack
  • Working knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g. TFS or Jira)
