Back End Engineer - Glasgow

Nine Twenty Technology are delighted to be recruiting for a Back End Engineer for their client in Glasgow. 

The successful candidate will have proven experience within a back end role, Node.js preferred. 

• You will work with the Technical Architect to define, document, and communicate a coherent feature design
• Ongoing test driven feature design – proactively work with others to identify issues or potential risk areas with the architecture
• Evaluate whether implementation tasks meet feature requirements and work with Team Leader and Technical Architect to ensure it does
• Develop features using Current Best Practices and ensure it fits with the architecture for the product
• Ensure the right work is being done, work with Technical Architect to know that product qualities like throughput, capacities, security & performance will be sufficient
• Support and provide input to development tools, environment and 3rd party software selection

Essential:

• 4+ years back end service development using current languages
• 1-3 years developing with Amazon Web Services
• Proven data modeling and architecture design skills
• History of delivering reliable stable infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge and experience working with 2 or more of the following:
• Relational databases
• NOSQL database
• Text search database
• RESTful service design
• Distributed architecture
• Large data sets
• Automated code deployment
• Test driven development
• Security driven design

Desirable:

• Experience working on highly performant systems
• Front end development experience
• UI/UX design experience
• Experience with NLP
• RubyOnRails/Python/Closure
