Nine Twenty are now recruiting for an Automation Engineer to work for a Global Technology Company with offices spanning across Europe, Asia and America. Our client is based in modern offices on the western outskirts of Glasgow (easily accessible by car and public transport), with fantastic onsite facilities (including a games room and subsidised canteen). Main responsibilities of these roles:

The Engineer will resolve linguistic issues with vendors, troubleshoots automation, translation and localisation issues. You will also be responsible for the below:

  • Delivery of translations and translation testing improvements, through automation, and championing innovation.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the translation processes
  • Assists in the daily running Translation tools
  • Designs, maintains, and executes automation test scripts to facilitate testing on translation environments and automates flows
  • Delivers translation testing improvements
  • Test, document, maintain and enhance the translation kits
  • Work with external localisation agencies, internal QA, and development teams, to resolve issues found during localisation of multiple languages
  • Performs active automation testing in multiple languages for multiple products

Experience Required:

  • Must have strong analytical & logical skills, including troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of translation memory tools, such as SDL Trados Studio, XTM, OmegaT, Transifex, Wordfast, SmartCAT, Virtaal, and Memsource is beneficial
  • Object-oriented coding knowledge, preferably C#, python, and/or Java
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies including JavaScript, XML, JSON, RESTful services and similar related technologies is beneficial
  • Knowledge of QA and automation processes with an understanding of leading practices
  • An additional European or Asian language would be a plus (but not essential)
