Nine Twenty are currently looking for a driven Applications Support Analyst to join one of our long-term, Scottish manufacturing clients based in Glasgow. Your role will be within the small application team, where you will have significant influence to support, enhance and develop functions within the company’s main business systems and applications.

Tasks include:

  • monitoring the various system interfaces and overnight processes
  • Taking appropriate remediation where required 
  • Supporting the implementation of new business application projects as well as improvements to existing applications
  • Provision of in depth technical support for a number of business applications and processes

Typical Day:

Some tasks will be routine, but the majority will be really interesting and will exercise your brain!!!

Required experience to be successful in this role:

  • Knowledge of any relational database, with the ability to write and understand SQL.
  • Reasonable level of experience of at least one programming language.
  • Basic understanding of interfacing data between systems.
  • Attention to detail, when editing and reviewing large and complex files
  • You will have been in a similar role for at least two years.

Bonus experience to be really successful in this role:

  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing, BI tools and ETL techniques would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of using FTP to transfer files between systems
  • EDI systems and formats, in particular Tradacoms.
  • Knowledge of servers, and a basic understanding of networking.

Finally, you will also have experience of business partnering and working collaboratively combined with strong analytical skills with a hands-on, results-driven approach with good communication and influencing skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to personal development, ensuring you keep current and up to date with technology.
