Nine Twenty are currently looking for a driven Business Applications Analyst to join one of our long-term, Scottish manufacturing clients based in Glasgow.

Overview:

Our client is looking to expand their multi skilled and dynamic IT team, who provide business functions with computer hardware, software, networked & mobile applications which meet the current and future needs of the organisation.

Purpose of role: 

  • To support, enhance and develop business aligned system functions and reports with the company’s main business systems and applications.
  • To develop methods of integration and interfacing between internal logistics and external supply chain business applications.
  • To provide support to the user base of the company’s business applications.
  • To be a proactive agent for change by extending the use and purpose of existing applications.
  • To manage risk associated with new developments and mitigate business continuity threats at all times.
  • Use and suggest best business practice to make the company more effective and efficient in system adoption and use.

Ideally you will have: 

  • 3-5 years experience adding value in a business applications support role in an FMCG environment
  • In depth knowledge of business system data interfacing, file transfer and database technologies.
  • Experience of business partnering combined with strong analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Good communication and influencing skills – both verbal and written.  Able to flex their influencing style and engage effectively at different levels of the business. 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to personal development, ensuring they keep current and up to date with technology.
  • Able to work with internal resources and external suppliers together on a multi-faceted solution and the experience to troubleshoot and manage critical incidents that can include multiple vendors

          Desirable experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of any relational database, with the ability to write and understand SQL queries.
  • Experience of stock management,  logistics, sales, CRM or accounts systems
  • EDI systems and formats, in particular Tradacoms and EDIFact.
  • Google Scripting and other cloud based applications
  • Knowledge of using FTP to transfer files between systems
  • Knowledge of managing servers, and a basic understanding of networking.
  • Any knowledge of Data Warehousing, BI tools and ETL techniques would be an advantage.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritise workload between multiple simultaneous projects
