Meet the team - Candidate Manager Harvey Rose

 2nd Oct 2019

We’re excited to announce another new addition to our Technology team, with Harvey Rose joining us as a Candidate Manager. We chatted to him after his first week to find out how he’s settling in.

Harvey Rose - Candidate Manager

Can you tell us a little about your background before you joined the team at Nine Twenty?

Before I joined the Technology team at Nine Twenty, I had just completed my fifth year of high school and started my sixth year. I realised that I wasn’t gaining anything through school as I didn’t want to go to university. I really wanted to start working and making money, and recruitment was something that I was highly interested in, so I made the inquiry and was excited to be given an opportunity with Nine Twenty.

What attracted you to working with our team?

After doing research into recruitment I discovered Nine Twenty’s website and was really intrigued by the type of roles and companies they recruited for. Also, the technology industry has always interested me as it is ever changing, and companies are always doing different and incredible things within the sector.

What does your role in the business involve?

I am a candidate manager within the company, and it’s my job to take on different roles that clients have asked Nine Twenty to fill and find suitable candidates for the job. This involves me phoning different candidates and finding out as much about them as I can and helping them into the role.

What is your focus over the next three months?

My goal over the next three months is to learn as much as possible about the recruitment industry and develop my skills within the company. I would also like to try and place as many candidates as I can and build my network.

You have just completed your first week, how was that and what have you been up to?

I really enjoyed my first week at Nine Twenty and found it very productive. I was shadowing my colleagues whilst they were on the phone to candidates and clients and sitting in candidate interviews to learn as much as I could. I have also started to work on finding candidates of my own for graduate roles.

Tell us more about who you are out of work?

Outside of work I’m heavily involved in music. I am a member of Johnstone Pipe Band and have been for the past five years and I also enjoy doing some teaching through the band.
